Heat pump technologies are rapidly evolving to deliver multiple building services while using refrigerants with dramatically lower global warming potential. This session will explore the progression from early field demonstrations of CO₂ heat pump systems to the next generation of multi-function heat pumps using ultra-low-GWP refrigerants. Speakers will share lessons from real-world deployments, technology validation efforts, and emerging research that is helping accelerate commercialization and inform the future of high-performance, climate-friendly heat pump solutions for multifamily and commercial buildings.
