Dr. Lakemariam Worku is a climate data specialist at California Energy Commission (CEC) with more than 15 years of experience spanning meteorology, water resources, and energy. He holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, a master’s in Water Resource Engineering (specializing in engineering hydrology), and a bachelor’s in Meteorological Science. Over the course of his career, he has worked as a meteorologist, water resource engineer, hurricane forecast researcher, GIS specialist, and climate data specialist across organizations in the United States and Ethiopia. In his current role, Dr. Worku focuses on collecting, evaluating, and analyzing weather and climate data to support its effective application in the energy sector.
