Ram Narayanamurthy leads the existing buildings area at the California Energy Commission, where his team works on an overall building decarbonization strategy and runs the Building Benchmarking Program. Prior to the CEC, Ram was deputy director of the Building Technologies Office at the US Department of Energy where he led the development and implementation of the R&D portfolio at BTO. During his time at DOE, Ram was one of the primary authors for the National Building Blueprint and the Affordable Homes Earthshot. He also has extensive experience working on grid integration of customer technologies through his work at DOE and at EPRI where he led the Advanced Buildings research program. Ram has more than two decades of experience in energy efficiency and holds 27 patents across a breadth of building technologies.
